Hi and welcome

Hi and welcome to A2 media. It was great to meet you last week :-)

So - for this week, I'd like you all to start planning and thinking about storyboarding your trailers. You need to have created a whole back story for characters as well as plot development.

Now, the music you use in your trailers MUST be your own - you can't use commercially available tracks I'm sorry to say.

Also, you need to get the cameras out and get filming - start now, even if it's only B-Roll footage. You need to have something to upload for next lesson, even if it's a shot or two which will never make it to the final cut!

Also, WATCH some classic horrors. Paranormal Activity is good, but add to your cinematic knowledge. Look at Blair Witch Project, for example. Look at films which were made in the 1970s, '80s and 90s as well as more modern ones. Remember, the more you watch, the more knowledge you'll have to call on for your own porjects.

Give some thought to your dialogue - will it be scripted or improvised (to an extent).

Remember - improv will save you some time, but are you looking for a professional sheen to your work?

CAST - get an idea of who's starring in your film. You will need to take a lot of time from these people - so make sure you're prepared! Draw up a cast list and make sure they're free when you need them.

But, MOST IMPORTANTLY, is to try and get some filming done for next lesson. If you've used your phone, make sure you've remembered to bring cables for the upload too!
